Get a Used Ice Maker and Save a Lot of Money, Though Be Careful Where You Get Them
Should you get a used ice maker? You may have heard several horror stories about why they are not as good as buying a brand-new one. And while I will be the first to admit that horror stories about reconditioned and previously owned appliances have their place that is not the case when you are talking about ice makers and water filters. In fact, the truth is you can have some very good luck I doing this and it's especially nice if you are just trying to make it through one event. However, I think you'll find that you'll end up using the ice making machine a lot more than you originally intended to.
As for those that are still not sure if their home needs one, just consider what you have on your counter top right now. And while you're at it, consider what you have under the counter as well. The fact is, we litter our homes with useless appliances and decorations that we don't need and never will. However, when something like an ice maker or a water filter comes along we are hesitant to purchase one. Why is that the case? I will never understand it but I recognize that it is a problem that needs to be addressed in order to get past it.
Ascertaining a cheap icemaker instead of a used one, I think you will want to reconsider that notion as well. The reason why that's not a good idea is because the cheap discount models are often made very poorly, and you'll end up having to purchase a replacement further down the road. Whether you get in industrial, commercial, or residential type it makes no difference. The fact is, you really do get what you pay for when it comes to cold sheets of water, and so ideally you're going to either want to buy a previously owned one or a higher end model brand-new.
And though these things may seem a little extreme, you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about later on down the road. I guarantee it, and I will put my good word behind that sentiment.
