Small Dog Houses are Good for Travel, But Other Than That I Wouldn't Recommend Them
Small dog houses are great if you travel a lot, but I don't recommend them for other situations than that. Why is that the case? What if you have a very small dog. What if you have a puppy? Surely you don't need to build or buy a large sized candle. However, there's something you seem to be overlooking here. Not only do dogs grow, which is why you should never get a small one for a puppy, but they like to move around a little bit. Now, while it is true that they like to feel secure in their house, they don't want to feel claustrophobic at the same time.
So, I suggest you try to get a medium-sized one at all times. Though it may cost you little bit more and he may think it's a little bit ridiculous, it's just so much easier in the end. You can even find them for cheap for sale, if they're having a discount at the store. Isn't your pet with this? Is in your pet worth as much? Hopefully you're starting to see that they are, otherwise you wouldn't be looking for a nice place for them online.
Now, on the other hand, if you do happen to travel a lot and you'll need to get a smaller one. Believe me, when dogs are on the move they like to feel really secure and so they won't mind having less space. This is good, because you can let them out when you're done with the travel and let them stretch and roam around. So what is the best thing you can do? Well, in my professional opinion the very best choice is to get both types. If that seems like it's going to be too much money for you then don't worry about that. You can get a large one for at home, and buy them a small one. That way you only pay for the less expensive one.
Trust me on this one your dog is going to take this as a giant favor to them. I believe they do know the difference, and I think it's unique to treat your dog as well. However if you search for it you will find that you are making a difference to them. And isn't that something that just melts your heart? After all, they're always there for you.
