Choosing Good Bedspreads and Comforters
"These are comfy bedspreads and comforters!"
Bedspreads and comforters are more important the bed frame and headboard. It’s an amazing thing to consider, but it’s the truth. The reason for this is because of the fact that they are the first thing your eyes see. They are what your eyes are drawn to. They are usually the most brightly colored, and they are made to draw the eye in and not let it go.
This is actually very good news if you think about it. You can save a lot of money by not getting the fanciest bed frame but spending it on a very nice comforter and duvet cover. The end result will be the same, but you’ll have just saved a couple hundred dollars.
Does this sound like a good thing to you? It should, because it really is. Focus on getting the exact look that you want. If you have a twin bed, get a nice extra long type that will really make it look larger. If it’s for kids, you don’t have to worry about that. Instead, get them a nice cotton bedding set with their favorite cartoon character printed on it. They’ll love it, and they’re incredibly cheap. They sell them in the children’s section of most department stores.
For adults, think about the different brands and styles. There are Martha, Jacquard, Abigail, and Chenille to watch out for. They make nice silky satin coverlets and luxury quilted bedspreads. As for colors, think of going with something that really offsets the nightstand furniture in your bedroom. Typically, a nice burgundy or lavender color will do the trick. However, if you have a black dresser, you might go with a dark blue bed set.
Be careful to pay attention to the manufacturer’s instructions on how to wash the sheets. If not, you could wind up destroying the expensive fabric you paid for (like microfiber). Be careful with floral patterns too, because you can often spill something on them and not see it at first, but later on you’ll see it when it’s too late to clean.
