You've probably heard about the new electronic air filter. What's great about these devices is that even though they do require replacement filters, they are still worth the price you'll pay in the end. Let's take a look at the differences and you'll start to see what I mean. For example, take a standard air purification system. It will run you anywhere from $200-$500, and it will take a toll on your electric bill. Of course, if you get a battery operated device that has electronic filters, you'll notice that the cost is much lower up front.
That is why I recommend these devices if you only have a need for them in certain occasions. That is, if you plan using them to eradicate germs and mold for that person with allergies, then you probably don't need to have one in your home all year around. It also not be a very smart idea to get one installed in the ducts to be a whole house purified type. This would cost you a lot more than you'd want to spend and you really wouldn't even think you would benefit from it. Now, while you really would benefit from it, if you're not someone who feels like you need it right now and you won't see the benefit.
No amount of semi-telling you that you could use one of these devices will really make you change your mind to want to get one. That's why you should start small with electronic devices. As for the manufacturers, don't worry about it too much, because as long as easy brand names like IQAir, Blueair, or Holmes you'll be fine.
